Update from Wednesday. Great rehearsal! Announced the change to players about rehearsal next week. We will rehearse Monday through Friday from 5:30 until 7:30. Met with mixed feelings, very understandable. I, or course, have NO life so I can have rehearsal until the cows come home but this is a busy time for families and I appreciate the time everyone has put in.
We are, for the most part, off book (still some people not comfortable with their lines) and it shows when the diaglog comes across as being read. This will improve (I've seen the improvement already.)
Each reheasal will go from the top to the end without stop (except for train wrecks, or course) and we will go over the notes after rehearsal. We got out first timing: 1 hour 20 minutes. Not bad. This may change; with cutting back on the length of some songs (Allelujah, Sleigh Ride) and diaglog tempo. We're coming in too quick or not being able to assemble everyone on time.
I think this next week will show great improvement. I NEED everyone to practice their lines so that they are confident with the diaglog and them can STAY in character.
MUST ACCOMPLISH this next week: Flats, designed and painted. Costumes, done.
TUESDAY: work 0n music only.
